We're very excited about our home and eager to share all the details, so we've created this "virtual guided tour" until we can show off the farm to everyone in person.
When we first saw this house we didn't even get of the car to look though it. We decided it was just too small for raising a family of 6. A few weeks went by and we received a phone call from our realtor and he convinced us it was worth the time to look at the house.
With some imagination, we could see the possibilities that this house pocessed (will alot of hard work. We also like the location, the privacy and the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
One room at a time our dreams have become reality. What was once a bordered up house in a field on a dead end road in now a country home on a private lane.
Vital Statistics:
Style of house: Farmhouse
Date built: 1827
Number of rooms: 8 rooms, 2 baths, laundry room
Size: 3200 sq. ft.
History: This farm was in the Hudson family from 1827 until 1988 when we purchased it. The road that the house in on is still named after the Hudson family.
We have been really busy making the house what we see it can become. Renovations in the beginning were mainly to the interior and the addition of a new roof. New vinyl siding was installed in 1993. In the last year we have doubled the size of the kitchen, replaced all the windows, added a front porch, a front deck, a rear deck / balcony and converted the attic into our bedroom.
The latest activities have included converting the old dining room into a library / music studio and the installation of a Hot Springs Spa next to the rear deck.
